Hammered Fine Silver Wide Band Ring - Handmade to order

Maximum silver shine and hand-hammered texture ~ This piece begins with very thick pure silver wire (8-gauge) that I use a torch to fuse into a ring; but that's only the first step. I carefully take the ring through several cycles of heating and hammering to transform into a multitextured band with a lot of character and presence.

The inside of the ring is perfectly smooth from being hammered on a steel mandrel. But the outside...complex and gorgeous! Hundreds of hammer strokes are carefully applied as I keep the ring moving to expand the pure silver to your exact size. I lightly contour the edges so that ring tapers a bit, which also creates more dimension for the light to reflect from. I also add very light hammer marks around the edges of the band so the ring has character from any angle.

As final steps, I lightly sand the ring by hand, then tumble with stainless steel shot for a minimum of six hours. This adds strength and polish to the fine silver. The band width after shaping and texturing is 4mm and the ring is approximately 1.5mm thick. This is a substantial ring and works beautifully for a man or woman. This size has served as a wedding and anniversary ring, so please consider my rings as an affordable handmade alternative to a commercial band.

I will make this ring in 1/2 sizes from 5 to 14 based on your selection at checkout. Larger sizes take considerably more metal and time, hence are priced accordingly. Please allow up to 14 calendar days for me to fabricate this wide band ring to order.

I was asked to make a wide hammered silver wedding band that was affordable and had character. I’ve seen a lot of silversmiths make hammered rings, but mine has substantially more texture from the amount of time and hammering that I do in my process.
