Sterling Copper 14k Accent Scroll Textured Necklace

Soldering different metals together is tricky, and in this piece I’ve layered several. The base of the pendant is handsawn from a sheet of sterling silver (.935 Argentium), to which I added a sawn and textured thicker piece of solid copper. After cleaning that soldered piece, I then soldered a handmade infinity that I shaped and hammered from sterling silver. The last touch is two balls of 14k gold nestled in the open spaces of the infinity. After polishing this piece, I added two light coats of a clear sealant to help the copper stay stable. For this piece, I recommend that it not be subjected to detergents, abrasives, or heavy friction. Over time it still may take on a bit of a patina, which adds character and contrast. The pendant size is 1-5/8” tall by about 1-3/8” wide. It has nice three-dimensional quality seen best in the side view.

The bail is an integral part of the sterling silver that I cut to allow for rolling into a scroll once the rest of the fabrication was complete. I have this unique pendant on a 20” tri-color chain that is a base of sterling silver with plated sections of 14k rose and yellow gold. Similar to the pendant, the chain should not be subjected to harsh treatment to help it last. This pendant is offered on its own as or shown on the mixed chain.

For the cost of First Class postage, I will upgrade to Priority Mail with full insurance on this pendant/necklace. It comes wrapped in a jewelry box and padded mailer for safe travels. If you are new to this small handcrafted business, please review my Policies on checkout.
