Sterling Silver Amber Beads Large Beer Chalice Necklace - Handmade

The larger chalice (or goblet) that forms the frame for this necklace is a glass I hand-shaped from sterling silver with an integrated bail. I lightly hammered and tumbled the glass to add strength after wire-wrapping the stem. Using sterling silver wire, I wrapped silver-lined topaz glass beads for the body and small clear glass beads for the foam. The effect is of a shimmering glass of delicious amber brew. The pendant is 2-1/8" long from the top of the bail and about 15/16” wide. It’s finished on a textured 18” sterling silver “popcorn” chain held with a strong lobster clasp.

Inspiration: Belgian-style beer demands the right glass, which is what I tried to capture in this necklace. Beer aficionados may understand that both the contents and the presentation matter.
